<p>Le service de microbiologie du LHUB-ULB est en charge des analyses de laboratoire effectuées lors de la prise en charge préventive, diagnostique et thérapeutique des patients atteints de <strong>maladies infectieuses</strong>. Dans ce cadre, notre mission consiste à rendre des <strong>résultats de qualité</strong> dans un délai de réponse optimisé en promouvant efficience, <strong>technologies de pointe, expertise et multidisciplinarité</strong>, et interactions fortes avec les cliniciens de nos hôpitaux partenaires.</p> <p>Le service est constitué de <a href="#">6 cliniques et unités médicales</a>, et déploie ses activités sur chacun de nos 4 centres d’activité.</p> <p>Le service exerce également des activités d’expertise dans l’étude et la surveillance de certaines infections en Belgique, et héberge <a href="#">4 centres nationaux de référence</a>. <p class="text-align-justify" style="line-height:150%;margin-bottom:10.0pt;"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:150%;" lang="FR-BE">La prégabaline est de plus en plus prescrite dans les indications pour laquelle elle est approuvée mais, en parallèle, de nombreuses études signalent une augmentation de sa prescription off-label ou de son utilisation visée récréative. De plus en plus de marqueurs témoignent aujourd’hui de troubles de l’usage et de phénomènes d’addiction directement associés à sa consommation : prises de doses supra-thérapeutiques, ordonnances falsifiées, poly-consommation (principalement en association avec des opioïdes), et on observe un nombre croissant d’admissions hospitalières, de dépression respiratoires et de décès associés. Les données épidémiologiques nationales sont limitées mais également probablement sous-estimées, du fait de l’absence de recherche systématique de cette substance à l’heure actuelle. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="text-align-justify" style="line-height:150%;margin-bottom:10.0pt;"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;line-height:150%;" lang="FR-BE">A partir de ce 29 juillet 2024, la recherche de prégabaline dans les urines sera réalisée au corelab de chimie en urgence, 24h/24, comme l’ensemble des autres screenings de drogues déjà disponibles. C’est une équipe de 60 personnes repartie sur l’ensemble des centres d’activité du laboratoire forte d’une expertise reconnue et de connaissances spécifiques.
